Depending on what your looking for....work and chill, weekend getaway or a micro-adventure, Galina has an option to suit you.
The Green Garden apartment is a self-contained ground floor flat, with a kitchen and bathroom with terrace access and own entrance, within the main house. The flat costs 70€ a night (sleeps two) with a 15€ final cleaning charge (incl. bedding). Fast wifi is a given. Ask for breakfast options and talk to Galina if you need a desk to work at or have any other preferences.
A bit strapped for cash but still need a break? Galina is always grateful for people who want to get stuck in and clean the chicken coop, plant new trees, rake leaves etc. For 4 hours work a day you can stay for free. Email for more details.
If you're just looking to escape and immerse yourself in the countryside for 24 hours, then the micro-adventure might by just the thing for you. Arrive after work, to a prepared campsite complete with fire and cosy tent overlooking the lake. There's a boat for a leisurely row and a filling vegan meal on request. Breakfast (home-baked bread, homemade jam and a boiled egg and fresh brewed coffee) is also an option before you can head home, refreshed. (Only available from late May to early September)
Things to do in the area
The Uckermark is a beautiful region of Eastern Germany with great cycle paths, forests, lakes and a wide variety of wildlife.
The beautiful neo-Baroque palace of Boitzenburg is just up the road. It sits on the lakeside and is a popular place for weddings but you can take a kayak or just explore.
Rowing and Kayaking
Galina has a rowing boat at the bottom of the garden if you feel like getting some exercise or just floating around. She can also organise kayak trips in some of the nearby lakes.
The Uckermark is famous for its birdlife. There are many species here that are extinct in Britain and it's always rewarding to grab a pair of binoculars. Galina will even share her birding spots with you if you ask her nicely.;
